Music Theory
Music theory is taught at Hills Shire Music when learning any instrument as part of their normal tuition programs. We also teach theory as a seperate subject for students wanting to learn theory for AMEB exams, HSC Music 1 and 2, or just want to learn extra theory for general knowledge. There are a variety of theory books taught at Hills Shire Music such as the Blitz series and Master Your Theory.
Music Craft is also one of the latest music theory and aural training syllabus, endorsed by the AMEB. It provides a graded series of examinations that aim to enhance student’s knowledge of music theory and their aural skills.
All grades are offered at Hills Shire Music. Preliminary grades covers aspects of music theory such as pitch recognition, scales, rhythms, with the higher music craft levels covering more advanced aspects of music theory like modes, roman numeral analysis and includes the study of selected works.
