Guitar Lessons

Hills Shire Music offers professional guitar lessons for students of all ages and levels. From school age to adult, from beginner to advanced, we offer a structured and professional music program that is fun and educational. You learn the skills to develop technique, coordination and listening skills. All levels are taught from beginners through to advanced levels. AMEB Rock School exams if requested.

All styles are taught including Pop, Rock, Contemporary, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Hard Rock, Metal and more. From sight reading notation, tabs, chord charts, strumming techniques, scales, chord progressions, fretboard theory, advanced solos and songwriting. We teach a wide variety of styles and techniques to accommodate most styles of music.

If you are unable to bring your own guitar then do not fret! You can use one of our quality spare guitars absolutely FREE for your lesson with no fee charge! Choose from our great range of acoustic and electric guitars in different sizes for your lessons.

Beginners

Our teachers will get you playing from your very first lesson. It all begins with inspiration and a desire to learn and at Hills Shire Music we will have you learning how to play simple melodies and putting together basic chords to get you up and playing your favourite songs. In no time at all you will be on your way to playing your very first song.

You can learn by many different methods and use many different forms of media to help you progress. As you progress you will see how your improvements will get you playing chords and melodies all while learning the songs in style that you want to play. We teach how to read notation using method books as well as popular songs.

Young beginners learn the basics to establish the techniques that will become the basis for their playing and enjoyment for many years to come. Mature beginners learn how to develop their playing style and technique and learn rhythms for playing the songs by adapting themselves to feel comfortable strumming and picking those elusive notes and chords.

Intermediate to Advanced Students

Unlock the fretboard and discover amazing ways to play your favourite songs. Learn chord progressions, keys, improvisation, lead techniques, solos, transposing and songwriting. Advanced scales, modes, fretboard theory and arpegios.

Classical Guitar

We also offer tuition for classical guitar. AMEB levels from Preliminary to grade 4 are taught and preparation for theory exams.

Other styles include Rock, Pop, Blues, Hard Rock, Metal, Contemporay, Jazz and Flamenco guitar and more. Our highly skilled and trained teachers will get you playing beginner to advanced guitar styles and techniques.
